Joanne Chew is a visual storyteller, idea generator and graphic designer.

She just returned to her homeland, Malaysia, after spending 6 years in New York City, where she graduated from Parsons the New School for Design in 2008 and subsequently worked in a New York-based multidisciplinary design studio, Pure+Applied for 2 years.

She likes unexpected narratives, abstracted notions of peculiarities, feminist-inspired performance art and all things metaphorical. She likes that she doesn’t feel like a foreigner in a foreign place. She likes the time between falling asleep and waking up. She likes learning new languages and has calligraphic tendencies.

Please feel free to contact her at or for a resumé request or just to drop a line.
